Le cas Nabila Saidi

Nabila Saidi. Source : Information.dk

Mise à jour : J'ai contacté Søren Rafn de l'ONG The Trampoline House via Facebook.

Dear CouchSurfers,

I post this not to ask for a couch or for a travel companion, nor to ask for any usual advice. This forum may not be meant for this kind of post, but the plea is urgent, and I am hoping that the solidarity that CSers show each other, can be extended to someone who really, really needs it.

In Denmark, where I live, I work for an organisation called the Trampoline House. We are a culture house where local people and asylum seekers (refugees) meet and network. Together we fight for more just policies and better conditions for asylum seekers in Denmark, while they are waiting for the government to decide whether they can stay in the country or not. Unfortunately the Danish authorities do not give asylum to everyone who needs it, and some people will be rejected and deported after years of waiting.

This has been the case for Nabila and her sister. They fled to Denmark over 6 years ago, and have lived in refugee camps ever since, waiting and hoping to get permission to stay. In the meanwhile Nabila gave birth to a daugther who has never lived anywhere else than the refugee camp. Their waiting has now come to an end. Not because they have been given permission to stay in the country. But because the government now has rejected their case and wishes to deport them to Morocco.

Nabila is in her 20s, I am not sure about her sister. But they were both abandoned as small children and have grown up in an orphanage. They therefore have no family in Morocco who can help them. When they arrive in Morocco they will have no money, no housing, network and no form of assistance.

We at the Trampoline House are thus desperately seeking people in Morocco who are able to help Nabila, her sister and child in any way. I am not asking for any particular assistance, but if you can think of a way to help it would make a world of difference, if someone just had the time to meet them.

Nabila is a hair dresser, so one way of helping could be by connecting her to someone who may give her a job. But again, any kind of help is useful.

I don't know the exact time of the deportation but they will arrive in Casablanca tomorrow.

Again, this is a plea for solidarity. I know many help other couchsurfer, and I have a world of respect for that. This time it is about 3 people who are seriously in need.

If you think you can help you can contact me here on CS, or even better, you can contact Nabila on the email address
nabila.saidi90@gmail.com or her number +4571436556

I know know it's a long message, but thank you for reading.

kindest regards

Christian
